Groups (Registration Types)
Groups, also called registration types, are an optional way to segment your attendees. Each attendee belongs to one group, and you can tailor what they see and pay based on which group they're in.
Common examples:
- Member and Non-member
- Adult, Student, and Child
- Attendee, Speaker, and Guest
When groups are off
By default, groups are off. Everyone registers through a single default group and sees the same set of tickets. This is the simplest setup and works well for most events.
When to turn groups on
Turn groups on when different audiences should see different options or pay different prices. Once enabled, attendees are placed into a group during registration, and you decide what each group can access.

Per-group ticket visibility
With groups on, you control which tickets each group can see. A Member group might see a discounted Member ticket that Guests never see, while Guests see only the standard ticket. This keeps each audience focused on the tickets meant for them.
Per-group price overrides
You can also set a different price for the same ticket depending on the group. For instance, a single "Conference Pass" ticket could cost less for Students and more for the general public, without creating separate tickets for each.
Price overrides are great when the ticket is essentially the same experience but the price differs by audience. Use separate tickets when the offerings themselves differ (for example, VIP vs. General Admission).
Assigning attendees to a group
How someone lands in a group depends on your registration setup, you might ask them directly or route them based on their answers. To collect the information that decides a group, see Registration questions.
Switching groups on or off changes how tickets are shown across your whole event. If you already have registrations, review your ticket visibility and prices after making the change so nothing important gets hidden.
