Tracking discounts

Once your discounts are live, you'll want to see whether they're being used and how much they're saving attendees. Sunfish shows discounts in two places: on each attendee's order, and in your reporting.

On the order

Whenever a discount applies, whether it's a promo code the attendee entered or an automatic discount you published, it appears as a line on that attendee's order. You'll see the original ticket price, the discount that was taken off, and the final amount paid.

This makes it easy to confirm a code worked as expected, or to answer an attendee who asks why they were charged a certain amount.

Reviewing redemptions

To see the bigger picture across your whole event, head to your reports. There you can review how often your discounts have been redeemed and get a sense of how much a given offer is being used.

This is helpful for questions like:

  • How many people have used my early-bird price so far?
  • Is that sponsor code getting redeemed, or should I re-share it?
  • How close is a code to hitting its usage limit?
tip

Checking redemptions partway through your sale lets you adjust course, extend a popular deal, or promote a code that's being overlooked.

note

If a promo code has a total-use limit or an expiry date, keep an eye on its redemptions as your event fills up. Once a code reaches its limit or passes its expiry, it stops applying at checkout automatically.
