Wallet passes

A wallet pass is a digital ticket that lives in an attendee's phone, in Apple Wallet on an iPhone or Google Wallet on an Android phone. It holds their QR code, ready to scan the second they reach the door.

Encouraging your attendees to add a wallet pass is one of the easiest ways to speed up your line.

Why wallet passes help

  • Faster scanning, the code opens big and bright, so it reads on the first try.
  • Always handy, no digging through email to find a confirmation.
  • Works offline for them too, the pass is saved on their phone, so a weak signal at the venue is no problem.

How attendees add a pass

Attendees add the pass themselves, it only takes a moment:

  1. Open the event confirmation on a phone.
  2. Look for the option to add the pass to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
  3. Tap it and confirm. The pass is saved and ready.

At the door, they simply open their wallet and hold up the pass to be scanned.

tip

When you remind people to arrive, add a line encouraging them to save their wallet pass ahead of time. A quick "add your pass now for a faster check-in" goes a long way.

note

Not everyone will use a wallet pass, and that's fine. Your team can always scan a QR code from a confirmation email or look someone up by name. Wallet passes are a convenience, not a requirement.
