Importing attendees

Importing attendees

If you already have a list of people, from another system, a sign-up sheet, or a shared spreadsheet, you can add them to your event all at once instead of entering each one by hand.

The import walks you through a few simple steps and checks your file before anything is added, so you can catch problems early.

Step 1: Download the template

Start by downloading the import template. This is a spreadsheet set up with the right columns for your event, including your registration questions. Using the template keeps your file in a format Sunfish understands.

Step 2: Fill it in

Open the template and add one row per attendee. Fill in each person's details and answers under the matching columns. Save the file when you are finished.

Step 3: Upload your file

Upload the completed spreadsheet back into Sunfish. It reads your rows and checks them for problems, for example, missing information or values that do not fit a question.

Step 4: Review before applying

Before anything is added, Sunfish shows you a review of what it found. You will see which rows are ready to import and which have issues to fix. If something looks wrong, you can correct your spreadsheet and upload it again.

Once the review looks right, confirm to apply the import. Your new attendees then appear on the attendee list.

tip

Always look over the preview before you confirm. It is your chance to catch mistakes while they are still easy to fix, once an import is applied, the attendees are added to your event.
